I'm wondering about the Sig Sauer Mosquito Semiautomatic . I held one but didn't get to shoot it. Haven't heard much about them one guy loved his another guy said it woodnt even make a good trot line weight. What are the problems with them if there are any problems? How about accuracy ? What can I do to customize one? Basicly wood you recommend buying one? If not what semi auto wood you recommend?

I’m not sure just what you’re looking for in a relatively small .22LR pistol.

I recently bought a Firestorm FS22LR.

You can get a reasonably good idea of the pistol if you’ll follow the thread in these forums at: http://www.msgunowners.com/handguns-f15/firestorm-fs22lr-t9504.htm.

I’ve had a lot of fun with it and if you lean toward the PPK-platform, you would enjoy the FS22LR. Probably a bit cheaper, too.

Ruger mark I,II or III with 5.5" barrel, blued. I can't see how a small handgun can be very accurate
The mosquito is a full sized gun. Its not a ruger but it is a fun gun, can be picky about ammo, and it comes threaded for a supressor.

I've got one, broke it in on CCI mini mags like it owners manual says too. I have shot Winchester and Remington bulk pack through too with no problems, but mainly shoot mini mags. It's 3/4 the size of a P229 according to SIGs ads for the Mosquito. It shoot decent but iisn't a target gun.
Not much you can do to customize it, there is a company that makes wood grips for it but they are $80, to much for a plinker.

If I was going to buy another .22 pistol I would buy a Ruger 45/22. Shoots better and mags are more plentiful and cheaper.

I fed mineVelocitors for the first five hundred rounds. It gets a steady diet of Winchester 525 now. It is a good handgun but not a target pistol by any means. I carry mine a lot during the summer when out in the woods. Killed a small pig, 90 lbs, with a shot to the head.

It feel really good in the hand. But you've got run cci's to get it run 100%. I'd buy a ruger myself.
There are a few mods you can do that will make them eat anything, just like with the Walther P22. I have done work on about 15 P22s that "were crap and wouldnt shoot anything but CCI" and when I was done everyone will eat anything you put in it.

Son had one he got rid of when it wouldn't feed but he's impatient, will work on it a bit but if it doesn't feed everything he runs through it, he gets rid of it. I like my ruger 45/22 Target. Leland1 let me borrow his Browning and that was one sweet shooting pistol.

sweet, I'd love to have one myself as it fits so well in the hand. I also think it would be a good gun to start the little ones with comp shooting. As it has the same controls as the full size guns.

There is a member on rimfirecentral, MississippiDave, that has done some very good writes up on the Mosquito. He has lots of info and step by step mods with pictures.
