I have an SP2022 in a 40 cal and my cousin has both 9mm and 40 cal.
We both love them. I bought mine from Bud's when they had them on sale for $439. I haven't had the money to shoot mine but two times for a total of 300 rds. I shot 150 rds last weekend and only had 6 in the 8 ring (first 6 shots by the way). The rest were inside that. I had first shot it the weekend after I got it back in Nov. so I was just out of practice. Cuz shoots both of his very well but is a bit better with the 9mm.
There is no actual safety but it is a DA/SA with a decocker. I really like to carry it with 1 in the chamber and know that the DA trigger pull will fire the shot. I don't want to have to practice finding the safety.
It's a Sig with the quality that they are known for but without the feeling that you are carrying a brick as many describe most Sigs. I have replaced the plastic guide rod with a stainless steel from a vendor on TNGunowners.com. Mine is on my belt from about 4am till 8pm. I don't even know it's there.
I love mine in the 40 cal and would think that you would be very pleased with it in the 9mm and I know my cousin would tell you the same. They can be hard to find.
I am confident that you would love it.
