If you get a chance to see "Snipers: Inside the crosshairs" on history channel, amazing show... Chronicles a lot of the historic sniper shots.. I *think* this is from that show.

yeah, the more I watched, the more I remembered.... my favorite was the guy aiming 2 floors high with the target well out of the scope's field of view on the mile shot with the .308 bolt gun... all of it was fascinating though.

I think that shot your refering too was a 1200yd shot..cause they were saying it was 400yds past its "Effective Range"

I wouldnt call it a Sniper shot since it was more like a long range shotgun blast.

I like the one with the old retired sniper that got to shoot at 1000yds. Old guy put the smack down on the target too at 1,000.

I have done better than any modern sniper. From 1980 to 1988 I was hitting moving targets out to 3750 meters (2.1 miles). And from 1988 to 2003 I was hitting moving targets out to 4000 meters. 99% of the time on the first shot. Of course from 80-88 I was using M-60A3's and from 88 to 03 I was using the M1A1 Heavy Common.

Left out one thing, from 83-84 we couldnt hit the broad side of a barn at 500 meters. Thats when I was on M551 Sheridans.
