Sold my LCP and got the LCR

I finally found a good deal on the LCR so i went for it. Sold my LCP Friday and bought the LCR Saturday morning.
It already has a Hogue grip on it that fits perfectly to my hand. Trigger isnt near as bad as i was expecting and it breaks pretty good but has alot of overtravel. Its way better than the trigger on my moms Rossi 38spl tho.

i have a 24" gong down in the woods at my house and i loaded up some Remington 130gr FMJs and 4 out of 5 hit it at 75yds

Ordering a holster for it today, Its super light at 13 ounces and handles +Ps well and doesnt have to bad of recoil i was expecting.

its a sharp looking little gun. for sure. congratulations.
Nice swap ya made! I like the LCRs. But like my taurus 85, I wonder how effective the +p rounds are in pistols with such short barrels.

Why sell the LCP , there is a time when a mouse gun is required. I CC a XD40 sub compact the majority of the time but when in a suit I CC a LCP w/laser, my wife CC's the LCR w/laser. The recoil with .38 special +P is too much for her so she loads it with wadcutters. In my area the LCR has dropped in price from the +/- $600 range to the high $400's low $500's without the laser. The Crimson Trace laser can be found in the $150 to $200 range on the net with free batteries for life. My wife is a deadly shot with the LCR up 50 yds.

I put those Speer short barrel 38s in my 60. I have never chronographed or shot them in gelatin so I don't know really how fast they go or how they expand, but I am happy to buy into the hype.

I have always heard that the old 158 swc-hp round is a good stubby round too.

I can vouch for that. My son has shot mine a few times with no prob. He's 7.

Nice gun! Been thinking about swapping out my Model 36 S&W for one of those...
If you lived a lil closer id let ya put some rounds thru mine so you could compare them.
I'd love to do that, just a long haul. All my peeps are from that area, though. My grandfather used to run a logging crew outta the Crystal Springs area, and then later in life he owned a country store down there. I have tons of family down there. Dad was born near Mars Hill....
