I trade for one that was as new in box with all the paper work. It will not eject the empty case all the way out of the gun and on the last shot does not hold the slide back. I'm about to try different ammo. Has anyone else had this problem with xd's ported guns. I cleaned and change mags.

Sorry, can't help you much in that I do not own an XD. However, do own several other makes of pistols -- ammo would be my first check. Slide seems to be short stroking .. not going completely to the rear.

If you're using reloads, it sounds as if the loads are powerful enough to cycle the slide to the point where it will pick up and chamber the next cartridge in the magazine but not powerful enough to get a complete cycle where the slide locks back on the last shot.

Yeah, we just tried some differnet ammo. I had some range load and it would complete cycle.
Thought that might do it ... My Glocks will cycle with almost anything; however, the Colts want it a little hotter!!

It's because of the ports. It takes a hotter cartridge to get it to cycle since it is designed for gas to escape through the ports. If you put a non-ported barrel in you'll probably find it cycles just fine with the same ammo you used in the jennings.

I'll agree it could be the ports, but not for this reason. If the gun functioned on a blowback operation, the above would be true. However, the gun is recoil driven, and the ports are reducing the recoil of the gun, and not getting the slide moving back fast enough.

Try hotter ammo, or a tighter grip. If it gets bad, have the slide lightened.
