I’ve been using my time in self isolation this weekend wet tumbling brass. I had gotten WAY behind so decided to play catch up.

i love the results wet tumbling gives, but I hate messing with those stainless pins.

The last couple loads I’ve ran, I ran without any pins in the container and I honestly can’t tell the difference.
I am sure that for heavily corroded brass the addition of the pins would help but i cannot see the difference in what I’m tumbling. I guess if you want the inside of the cases polished you would need them but they get clean, so it doesn't matter to me if they are polished. To me it is worth the hassle it saves to not have to fool with the pins.
Anyone else make this observation?

I'll stick with my way. Tumble in walnut media, decap, check length, trim then wet tumble to remove lube, dry, tumble in corncob with polish so they don't tarnish then load.
Aint nothing wrong with your way
The only reason I use SS media Is because it makes it easier to see shiny brass in the leaves

Me, and several other others bought some of these back in the early 1980's. A guy in Gerogia, some budy of Wayne Myres, broght them over. Simply a 5 gal bucket inside another 5 gal bucket and a little motor turns it. I used it a ton of time, still have it and it works. No telling how many 308 and 45 brass this thing has washed - used liquid Joy, sometimes Dawn. Would hand deprime, wash, rinse and put in the sun to dry. I used a primer pocket cleaner to clean the primer pockets.
The stainless pins do a little better and clean the primer pockets --- but I could clean them with my little hand tool maybe as fast I can seperate the pins LOL/. I do have a tumbler for using the pins - but sometimes old stuff still works.
Subgunfan, did you get one of these back then?

Interesting looking contraption! Would you happen to have any more pictures of it?
