I was at the Hattiesburg gunshow , I had made a knife similiar to the one above for a Dr. out of Texas, the price was $1000.00 a few years ago, there were a couple of knife critics standing at my my table telling me everything that was in their opinion wrong. The Dr. walked up, looked at it and laid $600 down and handed me a new randal #17 in the box and wanted to know if that would even the score. Of course my critics were red faced and hauled butt. I accepted it, but things got better about an hour later a fellow walked up and spotted the Randall, ( my god a new one) how did you get it? I told him that a fellow just traded it to me for one of my knives, he said---- (no offense but was he an idiot). Just have to take it in stride!!

everyone wants things cheaper (including knife critics).. they want to belittle your creations to get a lower price. in a commoners terms it is called "lowballing" or "haggling"... unfortunately for them, they cannot accept that the knife they have seen is brilliant. it is much easier to deny something wonderful than to accept it..

A similiar incident took place at the Hattiesburg show I had 4 knives to my name, I didn't even show them to the dealers when I set up on Friday.. Show opens and at 9:10 a fellow walks up and tells me that he has some of my knives and wanted to know about these, I was about halfway through when two other guys kinda of elbowed him out of the way and started quizzing me about the knives. I explained everything they step off about 20 ft to confer with each other, the first guy was watching across the aisle, slipped in and said how much for all 4, I gave him a price and he laid the cash down as they were coming back, he just looked at them snatched them up, put them in his bag and walked off. Never say die!!!!
