Stray that wandered in... I'm keeping her.

Y'all know I've had the fever, and after letting go of a couple of my favorite 1911's, I just couldn't pass this one up. Bought her from a guy who had her for about 2 weeks, never fired:

Shot 125 rounds of reloads through her the day after I got her, she shoots waaaay better than I do. No failures at all, nada, zippo. :)

Thanks guys! I still walk by and stroke it every few hours. Yeah, I know it's a disease.

Rbelote, I can't lie, I think it's bone stock, with the Gen III coating. The barrel says Ed Brown .45, I think. I don't have much to compare to, just my Kimber Pro CDP and my RIA Tactical. Ground up, this one is nicer. The fit and finish are far better than the Kimber, and I'd have previously said that Kimbers are hard to beat. I'm sure I coulda gotten a custom build done, but when I saw this one, I just had to get it. I've been told that the Gen III will wear just like any other coating, but that it's pretty good at protecting the metal underneath even if it wears. To be frank, I'd have bought a blued gun if one had been available, but I won't even TRY to lie, I'm really groovin' on this gun right now. The groups I'm getting with this gun are (for me) very, very good. I normally "shoot the parrot" and end up shooting several outside of it, but with this one at 15 yards I had to work to screw it up.

If we have a M&G II that I can get to, I'll bring it and we can pass it around to shoot and fondle!

To tell the truth, I've never shot any of them at 50, and only once or twice at 25. I'll be glad to try it, though!

Thank goodness you traded this one off for the Sig Sauer 220 equinox!

Uhm.... no. I traded a Dan Wesson CBOB, not my baby!! ;)
LOL, no big deal. After getting this one, I doubt it'll be finding a new home. Then again, I didn't think I'd ever sell my Kimber Custom CDP II (see avatar), but I dumped it and another Kimber to get the Ed Brown. Tried to justify it as going for quality over quantity.
Just saw this, G.O.D. You're right, but I don't have a pretty pic of it yet at just the right angle... Gotta put that on the to-do list, just above fixing the leaky roof.
