Re: Stuck case.

I have once removed the expander ball, if you can get it out, and taken a brass rod approximately the size of the thread in the die and drove one out. Not a good way to do it but I was desperate. Otherwise it is drill out the primer pocket and then thread the opening and pull out with the ram attachment.

+1 for using the brass rod and a hammer in a pinch. Use just enough force to get it moving dont smack it too hard. Once out check your die to make sure you havent overly scratched or damaged it.

what kind of case lube are you using. I had a few stuck cases before i began using imperial sizing die wax.... no stuck cases since then, and one can will last a long time.

Re: Stuck case.

I was using hornady one shot but that's wasn't the problem. The problem was I wiped it off like an idiot. Anyway I got it out but not before I broke a tap and part of my die. But anyway I learned my lesson.

Re: Stuck case.

I went last year to a reloading seminar at Bass Pro in Spanish Fort, Al. The instructor said if you have a stuck case, remove nut that holds depriming pin and spray freon onto case and it will shrink and come right out. Haven't had to try it yet, but he swears by it. I use a Q-Tip to lube inside the neck of the case to lessen the risk of a stuck case. Hope this helps!

Re: Stuck case.

Freon? Huh I guess that could work. Got me to thinking though. I wonder if you could use canned air? Just turn the can upside down and it will spray out some cold stuff.
