Any members have 9mm AR's, pro's and con's of this particular caliber in AR. I've been looking at the Olympic Arms that excepts Glock magazines, since I have the mags available already.
I have a billet pof sbr in my safe now, no problem running colt/cmmg pattern 9mm upper on it at all with cproducts mags and 124gr nato 9mm or special k with a ramped bolt. Most problems on the 9mm's are the ejector on the magwell and firing pin spring issues, some issues are with mags but never ran into one with the cproduct mags. Once you get the ejector lined up on the mag adapter and/or upgrade the firing pin spring you are usually ready to go aslong as you rember to change the buffer to the 9mm oneSOCOM SHTR said:Yeah I looked at a POF upper SBR @ Smith's couple weeks ago, nice set up.
No option for converting a standard ar lower for glock mags that i know of, The only 2 options i have heard of are the colt pattern and the not so common sten patten "olympic arms". And yes you can have a vert grip on a sbr legally, a handgun however is concidered a aow with one.sidroski said:Kind of getting off track, well a lot but does that SBR 9mm allow for a forward verticle grip.
I'd go with one that could carry glock mags but I guess you could never convert it or could you?
Nice gun!MrClean said:registered it as a multi caliber SBR. That way I can swap over to 5.56 or other if ever desired.

ince last year or so, the BATFE no longer accepts multi caliber on the form 1,3or4, they require one caliber, however they do accept others in the decription box. On the other hand you donot have to have multi caliber or list any others but "one" since it's registration is as a SBR/SBS not a caliber, therefore you can put any upper you wish on there even one shorter than described in the form. They do however ask that if it is a PERMANENT change that you simply send them a typed letter indicating the change and they will stamp it and send it back to you if you wish.
I talked to Mrs. Dawn at the branch about this a year or so ago and she stated this to me, and she also said there would be a posting on the website or a update to the forms but I havenot searchd for it since its kinda a waste of time anyhow
