Has anyone tried any of these "hard cast bullets?"
I purchased a box at a dealer in McComb a few weeks ago.
I have found no load data directly for a 160 grain projectile,
and with the powder and loaded ammo problems for the past
few years I jumped. The web-site advertises these as "hard cast."
I do not have a tester but previous experience tells me these
are "Extremely Hard cast." A flat base and flat top provided a
very stable rest. My Uncle Henry would barely mark it. The
old thumb-nail left NOTHING.

The 401 bullets are labeled 160 gr LPJTC. The website is
Back Water Shooters dot com. and describe current products
with a polymer coating that has a higher melt level than lead.
They also state there is no leading at over 1600 fps. Statements
from them are to sell. I have not weighed any yet, but I am
wondering If the box was labeled with 160 and not 165 gr.

Looking for load data for 40 S&W target loads as have SD
loaded ammo. Any help and information is appreciated.

PS Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

Web site is actually shop.blackwatershooters.com and lists the bullets as 165 gr PJ LTC.

I always called my sister Marilyn "Sissy". One day she called me and asked why I had called her sexy in my text.
What was your answer? :lol1:

She was 10 years older than me (70 at the time) and sexy was not a word that would fit. I apologized but she never let me forget it, telling her friends I thought she was sexy. I was without words when she told me.

back on topic

Depending on what the coating is I'd believe they'll run that speed easily. I run anything from real hard rifle bullets to pure lead under powdercoat. No leading being pushed 700(45acp)to 2300fps (300blk plane base bullets). Also cast 223 with gas checks also powdercoated, push those real hard.....no chronograph readings but loaded to fmj specs. No issues

My cast 165gn tc out of a Lee mold and powdercoated are loaded to 4.2gns of bullseye.
