We had a great turnout at the last match weather was great just some wind to deal with.
I appologize for not being much of a photographer. It's hard to take pics and run the match also, however here are a few pics from the last 2 matches.

To bad you couldn't get a good pic of the wind. Like one of the chairs blowing over, or my spotting scope blowing over, or my shots getting blown into the 8 ring.

I did notice this weekend that it would probably be a good idea for a new shooter to go down to the pits for a while before shooting in a match.

*The targets are at the base of the tree line under the arrow, you can see a little light colored area.
*I snapped the pictures during the 3 min. prep period everyone is adjusting there scope and getting everything setup. There is no firing during this time so ECI's are still in the chambers.
* The matches are held just a little south of you at Bogue Chitto,
Man the heck with watching come on out and shoot. It is the 4th
Saturday of each month.

Unlimited sighters for first time shooters. 5 for return shooters
20 rounds for score

two more sighters
20 rounds for score

If you do the team match you will need 2 sighters and 20 more rounds

So the min # rounds is 47 and if you stay for the team match then it is 69.

We are not really shooting groups but for score. After each shot the target is pulled marked, scored and raised back up with a spotter disk where your last shot was. Most of the time when I do my load testing I shoot groups at Byram on the 300 yard line. I usally keep working on a load until it is less than a inch at 300.

May I ask, what are you shooting - gun & caliber?

He shoots a .308. Pimped out blue stock and MASSIVE bipod. He's the guy with the shinny head in the 3rd pic. That is probably the most common caliber. .308 and .223 are in the FTR division. FTO is dominated by 6 and 6.5mm guns.

Lots of people on the national level shoot .284 variants ie .284, 7WSM, 7/300WSM

Probably the best open class round is the 6x47. FTR is limited to 308 or 223. THe x ring is 3 inches at 600. Most of the top shooters keep a high x count like 15 X or better a string. 10 ring is MOA or 6 inches so it isnt too bad.

THe rules differ though I have shot down in LA and we got 66 rounds. Limbic says different in bogue chitto.

Yep polish the onion up before evey match, the glare messes with the competition. Secret weapon.
Captain
Yes it's a remington short action 700 that has been trued with a 28" Krieger 1:12 twist barrel. Pimped blue Bell and Carlson stock that has been modified some.
