First thing is she is switching from a Semi Auto to a Revolver. I think it will be easier for her to use. She needs to get some serious range time in, so she will start going to the range with me regularly when she isnt working. Then come January she will apply for her CC permit. I thought it would be a good idea since she works in downtown Jackson and like tonight when she got off she and only 3 other cars were in the covered parking lot attached to her building. Right now she just carry's in her vehicle, but I told her its not going to do her much good if she is accosted in the parking lot. She agreed.

Nice! I also work downtown and we have a parking garage as well. However my company handbook does not allow me the ability to carry to my office! Major suck! So I do the next obvious thing, which is pack it in my truck.. However, being that I’m 28 6’0 257, I don’t think being accosted is really much worry.. However, last time I checked, crack heads aren’t picky! :2pistol:

Does the building your wife works in offer security? If so, they should be more than willing to walk her to her car after hours.

It's going to take 45 days to get it in so I would go ahead apply for in now. Just because she has it doesn't mean she has to carry till she's comfortable with it. Good luck with it. Let her shoot a few to see what she likes.

She might want to check her company's policies, too. Her company might have the same policy against carrying on premises as Glock.40S&W. Many business offices do. They don't want anyone going postal. Wouldn't want her to be fired or disciplined over breaking that rule. I know a woman can conceil easier than we can, since they usually carry in their purse, but it might be difficult to explain away should a coworker happen to see it, or, God forbid, she ever had to use it. Be sure and cover all your bases in advance. Being gung-ho is great, but not to the detriment of your livelihood. As was suggested, if she frequently works after hours, her company really should provide for her security and she should utilize it.

My wife too, put the semi down for a revolver. She is much, much more comfortable with the revolver around the house and in the car ... and comfortable is BETTER!
