The Media Get Trumped: President’s Polls Improve Despite 90% Negative Coverage

Discussion in 'Round Table' started by LeansVeryRight2016, May 8, 2018.

  1. The Media Get Trumped: President’s Polls Improve Despite 90% Negative Coverage

The liberal media’s war against President Trump was as fierce as ever during the first four months of 2018, but the onslaught appears to be for naught: In the face of massive and hostile coverage from ABC, CBS and NBC, Trump’s overall job approval rating actually rose, from 37 percent in mid-December to roughly 43 percent at the end of April.

The Media Research Center studied all broadcast evening news coverage of the President from January 1 through April 30, and found 90 percent of the evaluative comments about Trump were negative — precisely the same hostile tone we documented in 2017.

But unlike last year, when the RealClearPolitics average depicted a slow but steady erosion in the President’s job approval numbers, the public has apparently warmed to Trump in 2018, even as the networks are as frosty as ever.

For this report, MRC analysts examined all 1,065 network evening news stories about President Trump and top members of his administration during the first four months of this year. The coverage totalled a whopping 1,774 minutes, or roughly one-third of all evening news airtime.

(For comparison, in 2015 and 2016, coverage of President Obama amounted to just ten percent of all evening news airtime.)

Any idea if they did the same research about positive and negative remarks about Obama and Bush and other presidents? I'd love to see a comparison.

The more I find out about Trump the less I like him. To be fair though, I knew he was a tomcatting New York Democrat before I voted for him. Being a capitalist that doesn't hate America was enough to push him ahead of the competition. It's kind of sad really. All one has to do to be the best choice for President of the United States is not be a thieving communist.

  4. Found this comparison, FYI -- although it only compares the first 60 days of their presidencies:

    www.journalism.org/2017/10/02/a-comparison-to-early-coverage-of-past-administrations/

Compared with the first 60 days of the Clinton, Bush and Obama presidencies, news outlets’ evaluations of Trump’s start in office were far more negative and less positive. About six-in-ten news stories about Trump’s first 60 days (62%) carried an overall negative assessment of his words or actions. That is about three times more negative than for Obama (20%) and roughly twice that of Bush and Clinton (28% each).

Coverage was also far less positive, with just 5% of stories conveying an overall positive assessment of the president and the administration. This is in sharp contrast to Obama’s first days in 2009, when 42% of the stories offered an overall positive assessment. While the difference is less pronounced, coverage of Bush’s and Clinton’s early days was still at least four times as positive as Trump’s (22% and 27%, respectively).

The more they persecute him, the more they prove him right when he calls them on it. It's like he keeps them distracted with his foolish tweets and behavior and gets his policies passed while they are scrambling.

Yes and help is out there.

First Lady Melania Trump launches ‘Be Best’
“It remains our generation’s moral imperative to take responsibility and help our children manage the many issues they are facing today,” First Lady Melania Trump says. In an age of unprecedented access to everything from technology to prescription drugs, these challenges are more widespread—and addictive—than ever before...

BE BEST will include three main pillars: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse. By promoting values such as healthy living, encouragement, kindness, and respect, adults can help children form positive habits early on and [[[avoid turning to destructive behaviors as an outlet.]]]
    BE BEST

Well that's good and all for Melania but that still doesn't answer the question of "we have snowflake libs around here" nor have any connection to it.
I can't see anyone here who fits the description of "snowflake liberal".

Well, since you want everything spelled out for you (so lazy...)

1:25 PM the first mention of snowflake used in this thread
1:28 pm the forum snowflake jumps in asking for clarification

3 minutes bubbat. Not one single other person felt the need to question who the snowflake was, because they are all secure in their manhood. So there is your answer and here is your sign:

Hmm so if I waited 4 minutes would that have been acceptable to you?
And maybe they didn't ask because they didn't have the balls to ask, thus they ain't really all that secure in their manhood.:hmm:

The most prominent one is our current A.G. Jim the Hood,
who poses as something else altogether so he can dupe the
voters into electing him Governor this time, what a disaster
that would be. I'll vote for almost anyone else other than
    another Democrap than him.

Read an article last night that early polls have Hood a head of Tater even though neither have said they were running yet.
