You're going to enjoy that VX-R with the Firedot. I've got one in 3-9x40 on a 308 that has been through several deer seasons. It's a really good scope.

They are very good scopes, I have one of the VX-R patrol 3-9x40 with firedot tmr ret on a 6.8, I'm going to put the 4-12 on my sons 308.

Had a chance to get a little AP, so grabbed it. Might pull a few and see how they do in handloads, but won't shoot the corrosive in the Garand.

I know what everybody says, but sometimes I'm hardheaded. My AP 8mm Mauser rounds were disappointing on fairly thick mild steel. I'd like to do a comparison on the ar500 just to see.

I don't have a bunch of rounds, but I could maybe locate a few green tips and a few frangibles (just to test on the lighter stuff) to help the cause.

Yeah they expensive. But all American and built like a tank. Sold a gun while back and that was first thing I bought with the extra money. Man that's one sweet red dot. I put a Burris FF3 on mine just to try out before dropped big bucks on something may not like. You have the optics ready glock or having it cut?
