We drove to Anniston, AL on 12/16/10, so I could pick out several M1 Garand Rifles for my friends. My buddy Chuck got his on 12/21/10. I have not received mine as yet. I checked the address on my order and they have sent my 2 M1 Rifles to Ballston Lake, NY to a man named Douglas Bower. I called his house this morning and he said the rifles are there and he has not opened the packages. I contacted the CMP this morning and told them I was not very happy. The rifles will have to be shipped back to Anniston, then shipped to me. I told the lady I wanted the same rifles shipped to me or I would not accept them. This kind of carelessness is not acceptable. I believe it was because lunch time was near and the attention span of the clerk was "0". Wish me luck on receiveing the rifles this year.

OH NO!! I have sometimes worried about this type situation when I go to the South Store and pickout a rifle and then have it shipped to me (to save a couple $$s). Was always hoping I would get the same rifle I picked-out!! Have been lucky thus far with no SNAFUs.

Wish you all the luck in getting them to your door!! SOON!!

I don't know.......... If I were Mr. Bower in NY and received something I didn't order, I might have kept it................

Doug, I feel you will receive the 2 Garands you picked out. Just not this year..............

Hope my 30-06 ammo doesn't end up somewhere else! With the weather in the CFN I predict you will get a late New Years bundle of joy.

Do you have to ship the rirfles? Can't you just take them with you when you buy them at the store?

I think the CMP might call the dogs out after someone that kept rifles that were shipped to the wrong person. After driving 370 miles to pick out 2 M1 Rifles, I will not accept any rifles except those I chose.

I would have to pay the sales tax, I'm way to impatient to go over there and buy a gun then no leave without it. :lol4:

Wonder if the FTC law that anything you recieve in the mail and did not order is considered a gift and you can keep it.? Doug, you might have bought Mr Bower a nice Christmas present.

I remember those public service announcements that said if you received anything in the mail addressed to you and you didn't order it, you could keep it. The only example I remember from the tv commercial was the grandmother unboxing a kidney bean mag wheel.

I think I'd rather blow $30-$35 extra and call it insurance. I assume Mr. Bower is in their system and eligible else they may have inadvertently committed a crime.
