So I took the wife out to the "sand pit" today to try out my new revolver and had a blast. We had several old water bottles that I had been saving up and I picked up one of the metal swinging 22 targets.
We had some trouble out of the revolver, several light strikes which can make a persons first time shooting a little annoying. I believe the problem was the ammo that I used (winchester 555 value pack) and not the gun, though it did seem to work fine in my mossberg plinkster. she seemed to have a blast with the rifle and after a little bit of instruction turned out to be quite a crack shot for her first time. Nailing water bottles and the about 3 inch steel target at 20+ yards in her first shot more often than not once she got the hang of it. I was certainly proud though I can't say surprised. She also promised that the next time we went out she would try my 9mm pistol, which I am sure will start to get her hooked on the fun of centerfire.
If anyone wants to meet up out there next week give me a PM and maybe we can all get together and have some fun. I will keep shooting mostly 22 but that does not mean we can't have a good time.
