Today at Bass Pro I was in the gun section buying some accesories and this lady, about 35 walks up to the counter and starts talking to me about getting her husband a hunting rifle for Christmas, I wasnt much help except to say yes 30-06 is a good caliber or something to that effect. While we were standing there, she started talking to the salesman and I think she was pretty set on a 30-06 under $500. Anyway, after talking to him all of three minutes...well...someone is getting a Browning X Bolt SS 300 WSM for Christmas. Right off the rack, $1000.

My wife has learned quite a bit about guns over the last few years but this is why, in terms of gifts, she has "the list". She has a list of guns that I have agreed not to buy for myself that she may buy me at any time and know that they are ones that I really want. While I like all guns, let's face it, some are just better picks than others. And that one is not on my list...

Hell...if my wife would buy me a gun I'd take that mutha and shoot the heck out of it...I aint a big short mag fan...but if the little woman were to go to the trouble I'd be impressed...

and ya'll would need to prepare for severe cold...cause hell would be about to freeze over!

This lady obviously had no idea what was needed and gave into to some of the typical BS I hear coming from behind the gun counters....

A lot of these "clerks"....(and I'm being nice) don't know sh!t about guns, don't ask the customer enough questions and should not be working behind the counter...

Man some of the stories I could tell...Like

"Just rack a shell in it (pumps 870 12 ga shotgun, as he muzzle sweeps me) and the bad guy will run away....

Geeez

I don't know about selling guns. Most know about what they want when looking for one. But Home Comfort Systems are differant you have to sit down with your client and see what they really need not what you want to sell them. Maybe he asked some good questions to get to what he thought would be a good choice.
Joe S did you sell that gun?

Neve could understand a salesman, I walked into acadamey the other day to check the price on a 22lr and he tried to sell me all sorts of crap. I said "ehh I will go to my ffl/sot, he gives me dealer pricing anyhow", he tried to say that was illegal, :bull:
