Alton Britt was the man today at the F-Class match down at Bogue Chitto. Mr. Britt, as we now refer to him, shot a 200 score relay, thats all X's and 10's folks. He collected to pot that had been posted for the first 200 shot this year.

All and all it was a good day, everyone shot great today. And X-Ring did a great job putting the match on. We were ready for the heat and sun today. Tents, generators, and fans were brought by several of the shooters today and it made a big difference.

Hey Nonnieselman

U did great bro

300 eh.... :awesome:

I knew there was a reason the ground was shaking...and Womack was flinching....
I like the powder hog, it has a loud bark too :D
Nothing like seeing the grass get blown over 50yds infront of the muzzle and guys on both side of you flinching waiting for the cannon to go off..:lol3:

I could have done alot better on the first relay but i was fighting a wobbly bipod the whole time.
2nd relay i stole Parkers bipod off his Tikka and used it, Went from a 177 to a 191..
Next time ill use my old tried and true blue jean sandbags, i know they work.

I had a blast. Wasnt expecting to do all that great and left with a silver medal.
I have 3 more weeks to work up a lil better load and go from there. might be able to get a 385-390 score..

Neck, you have to shoot next month! No excuses! :D
Funny the 300 didnt bark to loud the other day? I guess the hushpuppy on the end does help.

Well I would have loved to have been there to shoot for the prize. Congratulations to Alton for the 200. Good Shooting. I could not make it because I was on the way to Yukon, MO for a 600BR match. If there is a match on Aug. 28th, I might be able to make it. The following week I’ll be making a run to Harris, MN for the 1000 Yard Nationals.
Here are some pics from the Yukon shoot.

I don't know what the deal is with the date on the camera

Hey 300 Atlas great pics, would like to see some more.
We shoot from that same 600-yd line, without fans, tents, shade, or telescopes; open sights. NRA High Power / Service rifle matches. I'd like to invite y'all to come out and try that -
Where are these F-class matches at. Also what type rifles do you have to have. These guns I'm seeing on here are way out of my price range, but I like shooting long range. Would a Rem 700 SPS in 308 be in over its head at something like this.
No you would not be in over your head. Most of the guns you see here are open class guns. You can shoot F/TR class which is for .223 and .308 calibers only shot off a bipod and rear bag. Weight limit with bipod is 18.18 pounds. With your rifle and the right loads you can be very competitive. Also we have the classes split by classification where you do not have to shoot against seasoned shooters starting out. We have matches the fourth Saturday of each month at Bogue Chitto. There is a recent post here in the competition section that gives details about the match. Come on out and give it a try we would be glad to have you.

Might have to get a loner one day and try it, when it cools off :lol4:
I would like to shoot at them big ole X's though.
To all the potential "newbies" out there...Don't be scared...If you don't know anything about F-class...at least come watch a match...you'll learn a lot...Find a harris bi-pod and a rear bag and bring that 308 out and give it a whirl....

pm x-ring and he'll get a map to the range

Just leave your ego at home....These boys are good shooters

I'm gonna get "smoked" Sat but who cares.... :idk:

I'll learn something new every time I go....The competition is with yourself....Besides you'll get to see some really nice rifles and meet some great folks

Hey X-ring....Since mstropyhunter cleaned it out last time...

ya'll gonna start another kitty to make things "more interesting"

Time to change that AVATAR :lol3:

Them big ole X's don't look so big through iron sights...
Seriously, I invite all the F-Class shooters to come to our Service Rifle / HP rifle matches. Try your skill with iron sights and a rifle based on what the average US serviceman in the US armed forces use.
I couldn't agree with you more, we have some guys shooting their palma rifles from position with slings and my hat is definatelly off to you guys. I would like to give it a try some time. Doesn't the club have loaner rifles members can use to try out high power? I might be mistaken but I thought I had heard Doug say something about it.

Yes, we have Rock River Arms National Match AR rifles that we will loan to club members; you will be required to purchase club ammunition (Prvi Partizan 75 gr match) and the brass remains property of the club, per CMP regulations- all brass is sold for supporting youth programs, that is a requirement for the club to be a CMP affiliate. So please let me know if you or any club member wants to try service rifle at 200, 300, and 600, I will bring club rifles and ammunition to accomodate those who want to try it! All are welcome!!
