When replacing the barreled action in the stock......How does one tighten it down? Snug all and tighten rear first....or what.....I know there is a recommended way, but can't recall it.

Depends on what rifle your talking about but you will need to torque it down.

Pillar bedded, 45 in/lb. Anything else I wouldn't know as they tend not to stay around here long.

Front first, rear using only pinkie finger on tool so as not to over tighten, snug up and 1/4 turn.
It's worked for many many years.
