What is a good hunting trigger weight? Sending my Pro Hunter off to have a trigger job done on it and thinking about maybe having it set at 2 lbs.
I sent mine TC Pro Hunter to Barretts in Alabama few years ago to do my trigger job. I beleive it's 3 lbs. He was listed on Mike Bellm's site and did a geat job. Here is his info if your interested. Call him up and talk to him, super nice guy and loves to talk about TC.

Bellm is recommending Jim Hendershot d.b.a. www.shotsgunsmithing.com on his website now. I talked to Jim and he does trigger jobs (whatever weight you want) on Encores for $50 and an extra $15 if he installs an over travel set screw which he recommends if the gun doesn't have one and I don't believe mine has one. He uses all Bellm springs which figures if Mike is recommending him.

3lbs on hunting rifle. I had one set to 1lb and it cost me a nice buck, had fairly thin pair of gloves on and didnt realize i had put 1lb of pressure on the trigger as i was getting on target, ended up putting a nice nick in his rack, a camp member of ours son ended up killing him 2 days later. After that i set my hunting rifles to 3lbs.
My target guns..... we measure those in OZ of trigger pull.
