30-30, everyone's sweetheart. How about shooting any of the plastic tipped bullets in this load. I know Hornady has their special Leverlution (sp) round out in 165 gr. but what about the masses of other bullets for reloading. I hate to stay stuck on soft point lead for the rest of my life.
thanks

I shoot the Hornady Leverlutions in both my Savge 170 30/30 and my Savage 170 in 35 remington and can keep 1" or less groups with either weapon. With this being the case I see no reason to reload for either of these weapons.

I would never shoot pointed bullets of any kind in my Winchester 1894 .30 WCF Eastern Carbine. I am very old fashioned. I really like the Lyman GC 311291 round nosed 165 gr lead bullet. They cost about $.05 per round to load.
