The local WMart has TULA ammunition now; steel cased FMJ in .45 ACP, .223, and 7.62X39mm. The .45 ACP is $14.97 / 50 so I was thinking of buying some. Anyone have experience with TULA ammo??

MORE:

Cheaper Than Dirt (http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemListing.aspx?catid=646&pagenumber=3) is curently running a "sale" on Tula.

For example i have ordered 5 boxes of 45ACP, delivered to the house, $78.91 (including S&H). That's $15.78/50rd box.

If I figure the sales tax right (7%) WalMart's $14.97 would come out $16.01/50rd box.

Just something to think about.

FYI - Their 9mm Tula is $8.29/50rd box, plus S&H (or $159.79/900rds plus S&H).

I shot the 62 gr. Tula hollow point at McCain without any issues with it, however I did have one Monarch 55gr. steel case stick in the chamber but it was dislodged after a good hard bump and it performed fine after that.

Today, 9:40-AM, FedEx came rapping upon my door. Pretty good turn-around. Ordered from CTD on Thurs, 10/7 at 9:10AM.

A buddy of mine shot some of this through his 45. He loaded his mag, fired a few rounds, de-cocked it, and sat it on the table, with a round still in the chamber. 2 seconds later, it went off. by itself.
Did you witness it? Was it a 1911 45? Was it a pistol with a decocker? I have never heard of a round spontaneously firing.

yep. i was there. it was a charles daly 1911. the one with the pressure safety on the back of the handle. so either he didn't actually de-cock it and the hammer somehow let loose without him touching it, or the round just went off.
