Thanks for the link.
Thanks for the offer
I have both sets of dies... just no place to set up
Waiting on approval to join. I'd like to have factory RIA stuff for it but it won't break my heart if I don't find it.
Its aggravating to look on they're website and see nothing offered but the 22tcm conversion but not the other way.
We need to sit down and design you a compact reloading setup.
I bet money I could get you fixed up!
I'm happy with my Kart barrels. I have your same pistol with both factory barrels and it's great. Of course Sum Gy worked it over for Shrek before I got it. Well actually it's Jackson's, I just bought it and store it for him. I've seen some good 'drop in' 1911 parts, but I prefer match grade that's hand fit
RIA has a parts and accessories site; its Advanced Tactical. I would verify this but pretty sure this is the barrel you need. Martin or Alex can verify or point you to the kit which would include the recoil spring and the 9mm ejector

Nope, that's a bull barrel. I have to have a barrel and bushing......unless there's some voodoo I don't know about (very possible) that allows it to work.
He might not miss the 9mm barrel. lol
Went ahead and ordered the Midway stuff......After receiving an email from them stating they had a black Ed brown barrel as I don't want a stainless to try this on. I figure the color will aid in my fitting......first try and all.
Probably could have come out cheaper dealing/waiting on Rock Island but I wouldn't gain as much knowledge.
It may seem odd to most, but I value knowledge/skill set more than dollars.
I think this will be a fun project for me.....after I finish up a few others, then again, this may butt them too lol
No where to find some time.
And then there was a 9mm 1911.....it is so good! I'm relatively excited about this fellas!
I worked on this thing from 6am till about 30mins ago. Measuring the hood and making sure the barrel was centered, checked the barrel lugs and made sure they indexed properly. Rubbed those with emery cloth where there seemed to be high spots till I seen there was 100% contact. Pulled a bullet and Knocked the primer out of a 9mm shell, chambered it while the pistol was mocked up,to make certain the barrel wasn't too high and the firing pin would hit dead center......I'm really close. There's not 50cents difference between where the firing pin strikes between the 22tcm and 9mm barrel.
I think it could be better but I just don't know 100% about how to go about it nor am I brave enough to cut the lugs on the barrel then mess with the link/pin/barrel. I need more schooling and studying before I attempt that. For now it functions and feels smooth.
As this is all very new to me I am almost certain that something is off on it......screwed up lol. Time and firing will tell the tale.
Needs some blending in there^^^
It works ^^^
Thanks! Wish like hell I could have been home to shoot it this afternoon. Just got home a few minutes ago
Sweet!! Now go see how it groups.
Brought some ammo today. Going to see how many I can send outward during lunch lol
You ate lunch yet?
Had a few minutes before I had someone drive up. I'm pleased with how it shoots except I had if fail to chamber a couple of rounds. I have a 14# recoil spring in it now so either I will keep trying this one or I may run up a pound or two. Could be just a rough chamber. Idk.
So far if I was actually accurate aiming this thing,it would be spot on point of aim.
Dead is dead.....that's not a bad spread lol
