well since i couldn't sale my brand new leupold 30x40 fx-3 for anything i decided to go a different direction with it. so here is what i did, went to the local gun shop and picked up a brand new ruger 10/22. ordered a Leupold base and rings off ebay and here is what i have so far. (see Pics)

as far as the shooting this scope is amazing even at 50 yards, the only problem is the trigger is WAY to heavy and pulls me off target.

so next up is a complete trigger job from Kidd innovations, with extended mag release that goes under trigger guard. and a few other particulars from him for the bolt, maybe some jeweling etc.

next is a barrel from hi-desert dog with twisted flute and threaded end with a better buffer setup. Anyone have any good suggestions on best buffer for suppressor, also a barracuda stock from them.

last but not least a suppressor from Mr. Mike,

:gun:

very nice, is that a stock barrel that's been fluted
No that's a Green Mountain barrel. Actually a 77/22 barrel for the bolt action, but by using a spacer you can use them on the 10/22's. They actually have a slightly tighter chamber.

I've got good accuracy out of this one. There is allot of info on tuning 10/22's over on rimfirecentral.
OFF TOPIC, Rigrat, why do u still use the barrel band if you looking for a real shooter. that rifle should be full floated IMO.

Ok, the barrel is full floated and the band doesn't actually touch the barrel. The rifles name is the Bandito, hence retaining the barrel band. It is quite capable of shooting very tight groups especially for a non bolt gun.

This was shot with American Eagle cheap ammo.

Federal 510's

Ok I'll go with that and shots are good too. It's appearance threw me I guess. I'm sure other thought the same thing.
BTT, sorry for jacking thread couple times.
Well UH I got a Savage TR from a friend that had a Nightforce 5-22 on it once. I think his reasoning was.."My gun, my scope"
Nuff said

Also I think it came within 2 points of tying a certain 40X Remington that I'm familiar with and actually beat the other 40X on site.
Hmmm! Yep that was stupid I agree. I didn't buy the scope so I put a Bushnell 4200 Tactical Elite on it. Stupid -650. I'm OK with it.
:lol4:
Hey!! We are ALL stupid when it comes to guns!! I know I have done some pretty stupid things over the years -- and will probably do some more if the good Lord keeps me around much longer!!

Have fun guys!! They all look great!!

steveo, your 10/22 target rifle build is looking GOOD ! ! !
I like the green colors.

You asked for 10/22 pictures, so here is mine......

Sorry for the crappy picture. This is an older 10/22 which I added a 20" Green Mountain barrel and Hogue Over-Mold stock and cheap bi-pod. It has a nice trigger job and the bolt release job. Other than that it is stock Ruger parts. The scope is an older Tasco 6-24X 40mm (made in Taiwan, not China).

At Neck's first 22RF F-Class match on 11/20/10 I tried it for one string (2 targets).

Shooting Win. "white box" standard velocity ammo and trying to fight (read) the wind, I am pleased with my 10/22's performance. I used the bi-pod and a rear bag.

Get your 10/22 build finished and come shoot the 22 F-Class match with us on 1/29/11 at Magnolia.

PS: It was nice to meet you today. Even if it was a short meeting.... :)

this is mine. I uses an A&B barrel with a Fajen stock, then used the BSA Sweet 22 3-9x 40 scope and finally a Timney trigger.

this is a 5 shot at 50 yds with Wolf Match Extra
