Ive been considering carrying a gun in my truck, but I cant think of a decent place to put it where it will be out of sight, yet easily accessible.

I have a glove box and center console, and oddly, I think my glove box would be the better choice bc I can reach it easily and velcro a holster to hold it in place. The center console would be too clumsy bc i have such long arms.

Any suggestions?

The best place to carry a gun is on your person. That way its under your control.

Lock the gun in a gun safe that is cable locked to the seat when you are not in the truck...chances ar a bad guy aint gonna have a bolt cutter to cut it.

First place Mr Bad guy looks after He's broken into your ride is the console and the glovebox.

Don't keep a valuable gun in the truck....Keep something that is reliable but a "beater" none the less....not your prized $1500 Colt Gold cup

My truck is a 2007 Ford Ranger, extended cab, two seat bench and the center console folds up for a third seat. The interior is very sparse, but theres enough space between the gearshift and seat to fit a small container.

Leaving a gun in a vehicle is how crooks get armed...more often than home invasions.

It is best not to conceal it or even partialy conceal it. If you dont have a CCW, and you drive to Florida with it concealed with will have a felony on your record. :pullhair:

It is best to get a MS ccw and a FLorida out of state CCW.

If it were me i'd get your CCW and exercise your right to carry conceled. For one i'd feel much safer there. Too many crims with guns.

I plan on getting a CCW, but I have to wait a year due to the one-year residency requirement. Otherwise I would just do like you say, keep it on me and unholster it whill driving.

I live in Columbus, but I was living overseas in Scotland for four years.

i keep a ruger blackhawk 357 as my truck gun. I trust this gun to get bounced around banged up dusty, muddy, bloody as hell on a few occasions and whatever else and still function. This gun has been in more close calls and violent situations than all my other guns combined. In addition to being my truck gun it is my hog hunting pistol. It has put a bunch of hogs on ice over the years. With the exception of what i am carrying for EDC and a few tucked around the home, all the rest are nice and comfortable in the gun safe.

Have you seen the Kingston Car Seat Holster?
They don't a holster specifically for the BlackHawk, but taking the concept and making your own wouldn't be hard.

I see one potential problem with that rig. You will have to cross your leg with firearm in the course of the draw stroke.
