About 15 years ago me and my brother was digging around on are families land in north Arkansas and dug up this Swiss Model 1878 Vetterli bolt-action rifle. I had forgotten all about it, till I found it in my moms attic the other day. I've always wondered what a Swiss Military rifle was doing buried in the hills of North Arkansas.

Heres a pic of one in a little better shape

Sears and Roebuck made a big business of selling these rifles and in ammo about 1908. They were $1.98 in original condition and $4.98 if sporterized.

Remington mad .41 Swiss RF ammo until the beginning of WW2. Many people converted the bolt to centerfire and made CF ammo for these rifles.
