Got two Wallhangers yesterday, one did not make it home. 20 ga side by side with rabbit ears. Been reblued. Has fireing pins issues. Hope to be able to shoot it after i get some more info and get it checked out. If it does not shoot no big deal I like it. Made by Crescent Fire Arms from 1888-1931 in Norwich, CT.

That's a nice one. Crescent made good quality utility grade guns. A lot of the "hardware store" guns were made by Crescent. I've got a list somewhere in my files of over 200 different brand names that Crescent put on their guns. All the Crescent guns that I have and most of the ones I've seen have had steel barrels. Damascus was an extra cost option. I shoot mine regularly with light loads.

16ga was really popular back then. Most of them were built on a true 16ga frame. This makes them slimmer and lighter than the 12ga. On a lot of the later ones they just put 16ga barrels on a 12ga frame. Here's a couple of pictures of one of my 16ga hammer guns. It's been reblued also. It was made in Austria in 1938.
