This thing has been sitting in a local pawn shop for months. I finally got it out and looked at it today and it came home. It will be perfect for dropping in my pocket when I take the dog for a walk on the trails at night. 1974 H&R 929. 9 shot .22 with 2 1/2” barrel. For $110 OTD I couldn’t leave it.

I took my first leap of trust on a forum purchase of $340 off Rimfire central. Ordered from a gentleman out of New York 1500rds of Nosler 308 168gr bthp Custom Competition. Came in 3 of the US mail sticky bags in a single box. Was heavy to say the least. Cut open one bag, counted (short 3 but that's ok), & weighed about 5 bullets out of each bag on a RCBS 10-10. All very close in weight. I was pleased at 22.6 cents each round. Fair price i think on that type bullet. Out of stock most places. Plan on reloading it in two Springfield Armorys. One a Scout Squad and the other a National Match. Put all the bullets in one big industrial zip-lock.

I saw this Ruger Speed Six .357 posted on one of my local pawn shop's Facebook page this morning. I started to share it in the Gulf Coast Pawn Shops thread, but decided to just go grab it myself. One reason, was that although I already have a couple of Service Six revolvers, I didn't own a Speed Six. Another reason was that the price was so low I couldn't turn it down.

It's a 1976 model, as it has the inscription on the side, "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY". It has cosmetic wear, but is solid as a rock. built like a tank, and locks up tight with no play. The slight purplish-tint to the frame makes me think it may have been refinished at some point, though I couldn't guess why. There's no rust or pitting to speak of.

Well since I got my Gun Permit in the mail last Thursday I have been itching to use it to buy a gun without them having to call in. We were talking on one of the forums about a rifle for coyote. I ran across a steal of a deal and bought me a H&R 223 with a 50mm Tasco World Class scope. I know a friend that wants one but if I shoot it I will probably be keeping it.
