I saw this Ruger Speed Six .357 posted on one of my local pawn shop's Facebook page this morning. I started to share it in the
Gulf Coast Pawn Shops thread, but decided to just go grab it myself. One reason, was that although I already have a couple of Service Six revolvers, I
didn't own a Speed Six. Another reason was that the price was so low I couldn't turn it down.
It's a 1976 model, as it has the inscription on the side, "MADE IN THE 200th YEAR OF AMERICAN LIBERTY". It has cosmetic wear, but is solid as a rock. built like a tank, and locks up tight with no play. The slight purplish-tint to the frame makes me think it may have been refinished at some point, though I couldn't guess why. There's no rust or pitting to speak of.
