I'm sure I've asked this before, but do you powdercoat all your cast bullets? If so, why? One of these years, I hope to start casting handgun boolits.

And those look nice!
I'm tinkering with other methods right now,but for the most part it is my go to.
Recently aquired a lyman 450 lube sizer, lube and have started fooling around with lubing cast lead rifle bullets.

For me the powdercoating is just easier and cleaner. Its stable, won't chip off and stick inside your dies. You won't look like your shooting black powder when firing off your handgun. Also......its cleaner on your gun, like FMJ ammo......there will be no leading.

One drawback to it.....Finding powders that stick well and cover evenly without having to spray them

I've been "under the weather" the past few days, so I got on the bench for a while.

Here's 300 rounds of .38 Special, 158 gr. LSWC (100 in brass cases, 200 in nickle cases).

For my next project, I've got these pretty .44 Special cases ready to go . . .

My only question is, Should I load 240 grain LSWC? or maybe some blue shot cup?

Or maybe order some .44 cal Lead Round Ball, since I found this in my OLD Speer manual??

I’ll be casting some of that very 358 with gas checks for some 357mag ammo very soon lol
Going old school lube too. I’ll be releasing some old school smoke with them. Nasty lube!

What are you calling "old school"? Pan lubing or tumble lubing?

I thought you were a big powder coater. I got 2 spare toaster ovens, and a local Harbor Freight. I thought I'd try my hand at powder coating.
Using a Lyman lube sizer and keeping the lead uncoated. Seems proper for the wheel gun.
Yeah I normally coat everything and you can just get better results using it over the traditional lubes. Well.....using good powders.
All you need is powder/peanut butter jar/toaster/nonstick foil and your GTG

I don't think it is the powder CFE-Blk just haven't figured out how to get it set up for the 300BO. Casing doesn't go far enough up to activate the Lee powder dispenser. Had it working with the 223 awhile back.
There are long and short charge dues offered by Lee. I’ll go look and see if i can dig up a link.
