Trying to tweak a load for my 6br with Berger 95gr & Reloader 15. Also loaded some more 6BRX for testing at 300, Sierra 107 MK with Reloader 15.

With the crappy weather this weekend I ran out of excuses not to start catching up on my loading. Left to right- test loads for latest 6BR, loads for factory 6BR, 6BRX, last 2 are for 2 different .223 bolt rifles. At least I wasn't a total slug this weekend.

Today's rainy day project to load today.
Loading for testing these 3 bullets for 6.5 Creedmoor. Finding the Hornady 140gr ELD-Match was like a treasure hunt. Also testing & comparing loading with Whidden seating die vs LE Wilson die that I have been using.

I was able to get a few test rounds loaded & tested before the rains came.
Berger 140 hybrids in Hornady brass, 210M primers. Hornady 140gr ELD Match in Lapua brass with CCI 450 primers. All loaded with H4350 at lands except for 2 Hybrids that were short while I was setting up Whidden die. I used the white target to notate shot placement & order of shots.
Savage 10 FCP-SR 6.5 Creedmoor at 100 yards. It appears 41.2gr has some potential to test more with both bullets.

I hope I can get the Hornady's to shoot as good as the Bergers. The Bergers are awful expensive.

More testing today 6.5 Creedmoor with Berger 140gr Hybrids & Hornady 140gr ELD Match bullets. Both with H4350 & jumping .020 at 100 yards. 4-1 inch box per square. Top is 3 shots with Berger & bottom is 4 shots with ELD Match. Part of my problems seems to be my consistency with bipod and Savage Accustock. I decided to fix that by changing to a front bench rest. Hopefully that will take care of the flyer.

Started working up a new load for my 6.5 Creedmoor. Sierra 130gr TMK with Varget. Found a semi decent load to start with (bipod rifle). Now ready to start seating depth test if the rains will ever move out.

Since the rain held off today I was able to get back to the range for some more testing. I've had semi decent luck with bullets touching or with a jam. 1st group (cold bore) tested was a 4 shot group with a .005 jam. 2nd group was only a 3 shot group with .002 jam. Other 3 shot groups were slight jumps but not near as good. I think I like the .002 jam.

Just stepped off into the world of loading subsonic rifle ammo. My first batch of Hornady 160gr with Trail Boss for 6.5 CM. Now to chrono them today.

Hope you started at a higher ish charge weight. I know it's tough to get a 240gr bullet out of a 308 barrel..

10.0 gr of Trail Boss was in the 700 & 800's. 9.5gr stuck a bullet in the barrel but was able to push it out ok with a cleaning rod. Those loads might be ok for a 140gr but & going up to 12gr for the 160 & try again. My goal is around 1070fps.
