Measure some of your bullets.

.
I appreciate you measuring the expander for me and taking the time to help.

As to the bullets, I measured several and they were consistently .3120, as advertised. It’s a good thing I didn’t buy .311 bullets or they would probably have fallen to the powder.

Rob the expander from a 7.62x54R or even a 30-06 or 308 die (if they are boat tail and not flat base).

I've got a box and 1/2 of the flat base rounds like in the pic above. I'm going to contact midway and see if they'll send me a replacement expander. If that doesn't work, both the .303 and .308 expanders are listed on midway for $2.99 each. If none of that works, then I might try chucking the expander in my drill and honing it with very fine sandpaper?

Used the last of my Dupont SR 4759. Old powder, does not meter well, but it goes bang every time. Loaded125, 44 Magnum. CCI LPM primer, 200GR Extreme RNFP, over 22GR of propellent.

Sized all the nickel 223 brass this morning. Those Inline Fabrication Roller handles make a helluva difference! Probably gonna wait a while to swage it. I need to order another Burnell Customs swager mount.

Pulled the rest of those 38's. Used two of the primed cases to load some snake shot. I'll try them out this weekend.

44 Mag with H&G 250gr SWC Keith bullets and 20.0gr of 2400. The bronze (black & gold) powder coating doesn't show well in this lighting. IMO, it is a pretty color.

If you are talking about the 44 Mag ammo, they are plain base bullets.

.
I think your expander is too big. Call LEE and ask them what it should be. Don't tell them what yours is at first.

If you want to try my expander, PM me your name and address and I will mail it to you.

.
I did this. Their response was .310. I told them mine was .312 and asked that they send me one, which is on the way. Thanks.

To tell the truth, no real practical use yet. Every now and then I like to load something to go fast. Going to shoot some in a couple of 66 and 686 Smiths and will shoot some out of my Henry lever gun to see how I like them. Hodgdon's website says they should be around 1970fps out of a 10" barrel. Figure I will get a couple hundred less fps out of the revolvers, a couple hundred more fps out of the Henry.
