357/38 IMHO. I think everyone should have at least one in their firearms collection.
.357 Magnum. You may only get six shots, but thats more than enough. When one of those babies goes off, its like hell comes for a visit.
44 magnum for me, a handloader's dream.

I have a .38 special that is double action. And I've not been to the range to shoot it. I've got my dad holding it for safe keeping. But he and my brother shot it at the range & its versatile enough to stop you in your tracks.

But, they all are versatile enough to do that.
