I have a bunch of 300wm loaded up and ready to fly..
So far ive been able to figure the drop out to 1000yds, hitting a 16" stump at 908yds while propped up on a 4wheeler :D

This weekend we are goin to start at 1000yds and go back till we run out of room, or ammo.

I have a 1760yds marked off on my map, and to my buddys driveway its exactly 2000yds. Furthest we can go is roughly 1900yds and more and we will have to setup in the road haha

Guess we will see what happens and ill report back monday :lol4:

My best kill was about 400 on a big Hog with my lil ole Rem Model 7 .308

Best I've ever shot has been the 300 with X-rings fine .308

I got one coming...gotta be patient...stock is 16 weeks out :wallbash:
The wait is tough! I hope that yours shoots "Like a House on Fire" Good luck with it. What Cal did you decide one?
I've seen X-Ring shoot that .308 Winny and yes he and that thang can shoot lights out! Hell-ofa-hooter and damn good guy!
I got a 308 winchester, Rem 700 action, 28 inch Pac-Nor barrel on a McMillan A4 being "built"...waiting on parts...

Its gonna get a NF 5.5 - 22 x56 when its done
What reticle did you get? I've got the same scope w/ a DD reticle in the safe waiting on the ODIN!
I'm gonna get DPS (Dixie Precision Rifles) to order me one. Think the R1 is gonna suit me better...that's the MOA version....1 MOA vertical and 2 MOA horizontal adjustments...

You need a Cray supercomputer for all the calculations on the Mil-dot NF's.....I'm still deciding....
neck i thought you had a Cray sitting in your garage?
I do...just aint figured out how to get it to the range...guess I need to study up on Mils and MOA etc etc
The mil-radian is defined a 1/1000th of a radian. There are 2 pi radians (6283 mil-radians) in a circle. Early in the 20th century, the Infantry adopted the system but defined the “Mil” as 6280 Mils in a circle. Shortly after that the Artillery decided to refine the system and divided a circle into 6400 mils. Thus a true mil-radian is equal to 3.4377 MOA, the Infantry Mil is 3.439 MOA, and the Artillery version is 3.375 MOA. The difference between the two versions of the “mil” is about two percent. For the example above this translates to an error of eight inches.

I mean how complicated is that? lol
Once I shot a 2.5" 10 shot group at 500 yards with a Winchester Model 70 Factory Target Rifle in .308 Winchester. It was fired from the prone with a sling, with no rest. The sights were aperture front and rear sights (no scope). The load was a LC64 Match case with 42 gr IMR 4895, a Federal Match primer and a Sierra 168 gr International Match bullet.

Hit a coffee cup on the first shot one time at around 90 yards with a Colt government model .45 ACP. My buddy nearly flipped, I just acted like it wasn't anything to it!

Yeah.... at 10yds. Doug, you didn't state the distance................

.
this isnt my longest shot but It was sure one of my best at roughly 265 yards I shot a deer and it went straight through the heart and it didnt take a step it literally fell like a sack of potatoes and it sure was hell carrying him on my back up a steep hill I think i took muscle relaxers for the next week and a half. hahaha :lol4: but I have never actually known my farthest shot but it was over 265.
Nothing much to brag on but i killed a deer at 125 yards with a 44 mag handi rifle with Hornady leverloution shells.

I shot a deer with my sporterized Remington 03A3 at 340 yards, according to the rangefinder. That was a few years ago with 165 gn Ballistic tips and IMR4350. Last year I had just drawn down on a doe when she spotted me moving out the door and onto the porch railing. As soon as she was in my scope, she bolted. I held a foot in front of her nose and broke her down by hitting her in the hindquarters. 242 yards plus a 1 yard coup de grace. I like to hear that wet thump sound that comes back at over 200 yards. I hope I can get on a range where I can play at 600 to 1000 yards just to see what I can do.
Took my stevens .223 out just a lil further yesterday, got a crow at 275yds. Shooting Tula steel case cheap stuff :D

Missed a dang crow a lil over 1000yds Saturday with my 300wm. It had just got thru raining so i went up the road to see what was in the fields. A bazillion crows flew from the fields close to the road out toward the tree line so i parked my truck on the other side of the road and eased over the road (road is raised above the fields) and spotted the nearest crow. The tree line is 1140yds and i guess it to be roughly 1000yds maybe 1050yds. Pulled the bipod down and crawled over till i could see it thru the scope. Held over about 7mils and let it fly. Bullet hit about a foot over the crow :( :(
Atleast it scared them off :)
246 yards on a buck walking accross a power line with a 243.
Awesome!!!!
What caliber? i was gonna guess .270 but that's not much powder for a 130gr bullet. [/quote]

I think that is a full case load for a .270WCF. Used to get Hogdon's surplus 4831 for $14.00 per hundred weight.

Long range deer shot

Same .270 that I killed the woodchuck with. 150 gr Sierra BTSP and 54 gr Hogdon 4831. Shot from the prone position over a log. The deer was on the other side of a valley. It paced 725 steps but it was downhill and uphill. It was more like 600 yards. The deer dropped like a rock. The bullet severed the spinal cord at the top of the shoulder. I had overestimated the range and the bullet struck a bit high.
