I'm looking for one with competitive pricing.
If you're in the Jackson area, for sporting goods, et al,
Academy has the best everyday prices ... but many times
the online sales with free shipping have the lowest prices
if you don't need 'right now'.
Yeah I'm noticing that. Gun Stores at MSRP, Academy cheaper...
I havent ordered of the internet before
I'd avoid Van's in Brandon at all costs; they frequently
have the best selection around but at sky high MSRP++
prices. I once ordered a special edition Ruger Blackhawk
from them through one of their employees who was a
friend of years and when it came in and I went to pick
it up, despite my friend trying to honor the order, they
wanted nearly $100 above MSRP so due to my knowing
the employee so well and owing them a favor or two,
I paid the gouge price and have NEVER darkened that
Lots of options now. And it's better than waiting on a shop to put you on a waiting list so you can pay full retail.
If buying online shop around, look for free shipping. Pick your preferred local dealer. Transfer should run you $20-35. I try not to order online unless I'm saving a substantial amount. I'm an instant gratification kind of guy and I prefer to support a local shop when it's feasible. But I'm not going in the poor house to keep them in business either.
Markup on guns isn't very much at most shops, so it's easy money for them, without the overhead.
Why am I not surprised?
What online places do you recommend?
If you're patient, there are deals to be had on gunbroker.
Other than that, it just depends. Palmetto State Armory has had some wild sales lately. I've found quite a few good deals on slickguns.com. There are too many to name these days.
Why you so mean to a brutha?
Any store without the sign.
William, we know your favorite store is, the grocery store.
Man can not live by beer alone
My favorite store is Brandon Sporting Arms. David is great guy, and is a member here (biscuitnt screen name). His prices might not be as cheap as some online places, but it's worth a bit extra to me to have personal service. His prices are often close to online by the time you add in transfer fees and such.
Depends on the product, but I know he beats academy's Glock prices and several other guns.
Vans had him beat on Varget
I'm almost 3 hours north east, but in my limited experience down there, I say give David at Brandon Sporting Arms a try. He's a great guy. I've only bought a few small things from him, but one of my sons in law went down and got a great deal on a pistol. Plus, he lets me sell steel in his parking lot, use his bathroom, and has bought a good bit from me himself. When he's not at the store he's out shooting. He knows what he's talking about.
Nothing wrong with vans been going there for years.
Lol, that's what I was gonna say. As far as firearms, I buy most of mine on MSGO.
Mr Sandy (@sand_man ) loves him some Triple C Pawn down here in lucedale.
