The ad said unfired LC Smith $1500 so as soon as re-read it 15 times thinking this has to be a misprint I call. He'd already sold it, said he'd gotten over 40 calls. It is a 1969 LC Smith, last year of production, NEW IN THE BOX! The guy said he needed the money. Never forget they are out there.

$1500 was a steal for a NIB LC Smith. That's the kind of deal I dream about. My LC's are a long way from NIB condition.

Marlin tried selling L.C. Smiths again a few years ago, having them built in Europe but quit last year or maybe the year before. Must not have sold very well. CDNN bought all the left over shotguns and has them in their catalog.
My shotgun was built before WWII, before Hunter was bought by Marlin. I would love to have a pre Marlin(1945) L.C. Smith dbl 12 to go with mine, my brother in law has 2.

Wow! Nearly every gun I have seen listed in the Market Bulletin has been priced at retail + 10%.

I stopped subscribing because of that. (Yeah, I can read it for free on the internet but there is a lag time.)

The sellers may be figuring in some room for negotiation, but I figure if they are that high, we would never get together.
