I been looking around and keep seeing the Moly coated bullets. I have some 55gr Vmax Moly Coated but never shot them.

Anybody done their own test to see if it helps/hurts/ not worth it?

half the info out there says it aint worth it the other half says they love it.. I think what stops some folks is the fear of melted moly lining their barrel

Most people have Chrome lined barrels, im gonna have a Moly lined barrel :lol4:

They USE to be the big rage and hit!! Now you do not hear much about them. Never shot any myself ..

also TD was pretty hot item with long rangers.. nonnie i got a butt load of boron nitride i will give you if you wanna coat some bullets

Whats TD? And i dunno what boron nitride is either haha. I have these cheap stevens 223 that i could try moly vs nonmoly in.

Is it good for a few fps and suppose to slicken up the barrel?

Won't touch moly again . Took 5 years and every cleaning product known to man to get it out of 2 barrels . Only gun in my house that will ever see moly again is my moms 270 because she shoots about 2 shots a year . One to make sure it's sighted in before deerseason and normally one shot during the season. Moly coated bullets have grouped as good as or worse than nonmoly bullets for me. I'll stick to NOT using moly . Just my experience and opinion .

I use it all the time in .45 and 9mm 38 super/spl.

I shoot moly 190 SMK's in a 308 Winchester F class...They shoot better than I do and cleaning up the barrel is a breeze....less friction...longer barrel life....

i've shot a ton of 'em out of my 9mm production gun....Black Bullets Int. They shoot very good

My F class 308 has had a ton of em down the pipe...we are talking thousands....

About 3 or 4 patches and she's clean...I suspect that what some of you think is moly...aint moly
