She severely dislocated her ankle today after suffering a significant fall.
EMS recommended against taking her to local hospital based on what they could see, so she went to Forrest General.
X-rays revealed nothing was broken so they knocked her out and put it back in place. Blood flow and feeling appeared to be good, so they put her in a splint and let her come home.
She has to call Monday and schedule a follow-up appointment for Tuesday, as long as there are no complications between now and then.
She's a schoolteacher, so not sure how this is going to work out. I'm supposed to be headed to South Louisiana Tuesday morning for a few days to work a new position I'm filling in for. Our youngest daughter will be able to take her to the appointment if she feels good enough for me to make the work trip. If she needs, I'll cancel the trip.
She's resting as comfortably as can be expected. I'd just appreciate some prayers/positive thoughts for her. Seeing her lose her balance and then fall...then hearing her land and start screaming. She didn't scream like that during natural childbirth.
Thank you. I have to thank the Good Lord for the blessings today. I have nothing but good to say about the EMS staff that transported her or the ER staff.
I hope everything is ok and it’s only a few days of staying off of it. We really don’t know how much our better half’s do until something sidelines them.
Thank you all. Swelling appears to have gone down a little bit. CAT scan done last week revealed significant edema (their terms) and multiple fractures throughout the foot. MRI (the first one) scheduled tomorrow in Hattiesburg with a follow up with ortho at the end of the month.

I'm using Dr. Barry at Southern Bone and Joint PA. Going there for therapy also. So far I like the Doctor and his team. Prayers sent for a speedy and complete healing.
