what is the difference? I was looking on cheaperthandirt.com at some ammo and they had some 40grain wildcat and 40grain high velocity. So, it was the same bullet weight, the same listed velocity of 1255fps.

I'm going to guess and say the difference is going to be the bullet itself. One may be hollow point and the other may be round nose. You didn't say if they were different manufacturers as well.

Wildcat is the name of the round.. kinda like remington Golden Bullet..
Its a 40gr RN.
Not sure which High Velocity your talking about tho.

The wildcats shot extremely good in my 10/22 and then i went awhile without being able to find them.. Found some up in Indiana one time and bought a few bricks for safe keeping

The Wildcat has a 40g round nose bullet and is 1255fps, Super-X High Velocity has 40g Power Point Bullet is 1280 fps. The Super X comes in a round nose 40g bullet too.
