ok so i have fallen in love with the xdm .45, but i really really want it in 3.8.... do ya'll think that will ever become available or is it just wishful thinking?

Not sure but I do have a question. You mentioned potentially competing with it in another thread so do you think the shorter barrel is the best idea. A longer barrel could provide you with a little better accuracy. :thinking:

yea i agree on that one, but the 3.8 fits my hand better and would be better for carry. i want something that would work for both

A longer barrel doesn't mean better accuracy.

Longer barrels only mean more velocity. The extra sight radius may make it easier to shoot more precisely, but the length of the barrel doesn't make it more accurate.

That being said, the 3.8 is probably too short for competition, depending on what discipline you want to shoot. Also, .45 will also get expensive, quick.

i can wait. ive got a yr n a half till i can carry anyway.... as far as comp i want the best if i did decide to shoot it. as much as i HATE to say it, if i ever really get into comp i'll get a (choking) 9... (UCK)... I just dont like them

ree a 9mm is not that bad I love mine. You will learn to love it.

i choke at the thought of it... just always liked the .40 better. but i guess it wont hurt to have a .40, already own, .45, next purchase, and a 9 if i ever get into comp.... u can never have to many guns :0023:

I don't think SA will come out with a 3.8 version for a while (1 - 2 years) I believe they will wait until they "feel" slack on sales of their full size model, just like they did with the 9mm and 40 cal. Just my opinion. My 3.8 40 cal is a "fun to shoot gun.
