Anyone got any information on these? I've only seen an ad for them. Didn't find any info on the Springfield site either. I would love to have one to CC. I'm sure SGMJody will get one for his collection so I'll get to try it before I buy it.

I "heard" they were beginning shipment next week, would be interested to hear what you find out. I was wondering if this would qualify for the free mag deal SA has going on thru 2010 and which of the two mags they would send you.

jakeg823 you would absolutely love the xd40sc. It is the smoothest shooting subby I'v ever shot and carry mine all day everyday!! Cute on the inside and just NASTY on the inside.
so i've heard...i cant be making anymore purchases anytime soon anyway, so i might as well hold out for a little while and at least hold both(if not shoot both) before i buy

Picked up one today at the gun show. Was nice. Literally just a chopped down version of the full size. I didn't even look at the backstrap though, is it still interchangeable? I liked it enough that I'll hold off on the xdsc and just wait on a xdm40compact to be released...bound to happen this year I'm sure....right??????.....

Yeah I wasn't really thinking about taking a picture...wish I had now! The price was $600 which is slightly less than what the 4.5" costs usually(wanting to say I paid $630 for mine, but I've seen them for $575).

I'm pretty sure the backstrap is interchangeable though because that's one of the "m factors" I would think! I'd go ahead and get one in 9 but I really don't want another pistol caliber...I have a hard enough time keeping .40s and .45s on hand...dang I need to start reloading!

I've been considering a m&p compact(I like the thumb safety on some models...wasn't sure but I like the idea), but I'm already familiar with the ergonomics and what not of the xdm so it wouldn't be so much like shooting a completely different gun when at the range and what not. And especially in a carry scenario I think we can all agree that familiarity with your chosen carry weapon is key
