Real proud of this little guy. He's 6yo, and the son of a cousin who lives near me. He got this one day before yesterday. Shot it with his own AR which his grandma gave him on his 2nd b'day. [IMG]

Pretty good first buck. What part of MS are you in?

Is that a typical 8 point where you're from the ones over here are generally pretty wide by the time they're an 8

I don't know what "typical" means. I've seen wider and smaller spreads around here in the last 18 years. :)

    C'mon man.
    You know what I mean.
    Simple questions have simple answers.
Deer where I'm from are "typically" smaller and not as "heavy" as they say, than ones that can be found in the delta "typically".
That would be an atypical 8 point in the woods I romp.
Not trying to insult it just asking a curious question.

I know what you mean, but I don't know about the Delta area or the southern part of the State. I suppose the one shown in this thread is about avg. for around here.

I live about 8 miles from Gunny and that's a nice one. I've seen larger and smaller 8's but a lot of folks would put that one on the wall. I would say that as far as racks go, it's average, but for a 6 year old it's priceless and the beginning of a life in the woods.
